So, literally, we spent 15 months going from idea to the point where we actually had a permit and were able to start building.  Most of the holdup was convincing the city of Brentwood that we had the right to build a pool in our backyard… Mind you, there are some 200 feet between the pool and the nearest house… but whatever.  I’m letting bygones be bygones.

So, over the last year, we spoke with a few different pool folks.  Some seemed like good technicians, but it was clear to us without a doubt that we talked to one artist.  Lee at Waterscapes was far and away the leader.  We went through a few iterations on the pool (which I may share at some point), but the final design looks like this.

The pool house appears to be a rectangle on this picture, but it’s really something more extravagant.  For now, just ignore it.  We’ll come back to that.
